Prepares to Bake Hundreds of Dozens of Acclaimed Vegan
Cookies for Gourmet Hollywood Extravaganza |
| |
| Sacramento,
Calif. — On September 10, PETA will celebrate
two and a half decades of putting animal rights into the
U.S. mainstream through scores of victories for animals
at its star-studded 25th Anniversary Gala and Humanitarian
Awards Show at Paramount Studios in Hollywood. To prepare
for the occasion, PETA scoured the country to assemble
a world-class gourmet vegan catering team, and because
no one can satisfy a sweet tooth like the bakers at Sacramento-based
Sun Flour Baking Co., their devilishly
delicious vegan cookies will be featured at the event.
Owner and head baker Rey Ortega will
travel to Los Angeles to take part in the event, which
will be hosted by actor Pamela Anderson
and comedian Fred Willard. |

| Guests
at PETA’s gala will snack on Sun Flour Baking Co.’s
assortment of delicious vegan cookies, including Chocolate
Chip With Walnuts, Peanut Butter, Mocha Java, German Chocolate,
and Lemony Lemon. |
| |
| Among
the thousands of guests at the black-tie affair will be
many of PETA’s celebrity supporters, including
Lady Heather Mills McCartney, Alec Baldwin, Jamie Lee
Curtis, Kelly and Sharon Osbourne, Alyssa Milano,
and Dennis Rodman. |
| |
| "Even
the stars—who are used to the finest cuisine—will
be dazzled by this unprecedented gourmet vegan extravaganza,"
says PETA President Ingrid E. Newkirk. "We’re
thrilled that Sun Flour Baking Co. has so graciously—and
deliciously—offered its support of our vital work
to help stop animal suffering." |
